From May 1 to September 30. The minimum number of participants is six people and the insurance is compulsory and included in the rates available at the hotel.

SARZANA
Meeting with the guide at Porta Romana and visit of the most beautiful old town center of the Ligurian Levante. You will have a walk on the walls to see the Cittadelal, the only example of Florentine military architecture in Liguria. The visit continue to Piazza Garibaldi towards the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta within which you can admire many works of art including the painted Cross by Master William of 1138 and considered the oldest in Italy. Walking around you will pass in front of the parish church of St Andrew and the ancestral home of Napoleon Bonaparte to get to Piazza Matteotti, which is now the social and cultural gathering of the city.

LUNI AND THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
Meeting with the guide at 9.00 am at the entrance of the archaeological site. Luna was a Roman city in 177 B.C., it was important for the commerce of white marble that was shipped in the port and taken to Rome through the Tiber. Your visit starts from Piazza del Foro, the side of the ancient tabernae. We continue to admire the Domus of the Frescos, a house of 1200 square meters ... Then the area of the Capitolium and the Roman cathedral. We will visit the ruins of the Roman amphitheater that were outside the walls. The tour will end with a visit to the small museum.

LA SPEZIA AND LIA MUSEUM
Meeting at 9.30 with the guide in front of the Lia Museum in La Spezia in Via Prione. Visit of the Museum which is a very rich private collection donated to the City by the engineer Amedeo Lia.
We'll start with a room devoted to sacred objects, and make a real excursion into Italian painting from the Middle Ages to 1800. Beautiful is the Camera delle meraviglie (Room of Wonders) with precious and rare objects and interesting is the room of "still lifes". At the end we will have a walk to the center of the city of La Spezia along Via Prione, we will pass in front of the palace of the Countess of Castiglione and the church of Santa Maria, former Cathedral of the city. You will come to the historic gardens in front of the beautiful bronze statue of Garibaldi.

LA SPEZIA AND THE NAVAL MUSEUM
Meeting with the guide in front of the Naval Museum in La Spezia at 9.00. Visit of the richest Naval Museum in Italy where you can admire the collection of twenty-eight figureheads, wooden figures that were placed on the bow of the ship as well as many relics of the Italian Navy. You will make a real journey through the history of navigation for which we are famous in the world. At the end we will have a walk to the center of the city of La Spezia along Via Prione, we will pass in front of the palace of the Countess of Castiglione and the church of Santa Maria, former Cathedral of the city. You will come to the historic gardens in front of the beautiful bronze statue of Garibaldi.

LA SPEZIA AND THE MUSEUM OF THE CASTLE SAN GIORGIO
Meeting at 9.30 am in front of the Castle Museum and beginning of visits. The way will introduce us to the prehistoric life of the ancient Lunigiana, with the famous Stele Statues, cassette tombs of the Apuan Ligurians and the daily and public life of the Colony of Luna, the Roman city famous for the marble trade. At the end we will have a walk to the center of the city of La Spezia along Via Prione, we will pass in front of the palace of the Countess of Castiglione and the church of Santa Maria, former Cathedral of the city. You will come to the historic gardens in front of the beautiful bronze statue of Garibaldi.

PORTOVENERE

Departure with your own mean of transport from the hotel and meeting with the guide in Portovenere at 15.30 in Piazza Bastreri and beginning of the visit to the beautiful Genoese maritime village that is today a World Heritage Site of Unesco. We begin with a walk to the main caruggio through the village, admiring the medieval houses with the beautiful slate and sandstone portals. We will reach Piazza Spallanzani from where you can admire a spectacular landscape of the Gulf, the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, the Apuan Alps and Lerici. We will head to the beautiful church of San Pietroperched on the headland of the Arpaia, a splendid example of Gothic Genoese of year 1256. We will continue along the promenade to admire the famous tower houses that form the famous Palazzata a mare.

CINQUE TERRE
Departure from Sarzana Station to La Spezia where you will meet the guide and where you will buy the card for entry to the National Park. Departure to Riomaggiore from where you will continue on foot through the most romantic path in the world, the Via dell’Amore (Way of Love), to reach Manarola. Breathtaking views are waiting for us, made of cliffs overlooking the sea and the Mediterranean brush. In Manarola we will visit the typical marina with a walk to Punta Bonfiglio. Lunch in Manarola. In the early afternoon we will reach Monterosso where we will visit the old town with the beautiful church of St. John the Baptist and the Oratorio dei Neri. At the end we will catch the train to Sarzana.

GULF OF LA SPEZIA , BORGO DELLE GRAZIE AND VILLA ROMANA DEL VARIGNANO
Meeting with the guide at the hotel and departure by boat for crossing the Gulf of La Spezia to discover one of the most beautiful bays in Italy. The Gulf of Poets is like a natural amphitheater surrounded by the Apennines and the Apuan Alps. We will admire the landscapes of the village of Lerici dominated by the massive Castle, the village of Portovenere, and the three islands that protect the Bay by the waves. You will arrive at the village delle Grazie, lovely little village with its church dedicated to Nostra Signora delle Grazie which has a long history and is linked to the Benedictine community that originally lived on the island of Tino. Here was found a Roman villa that was one Domus, noble home with a ‘pars rustica’, which was a kind of forerunner farm with a mill and a water cistern still preserved. At the end you will leave by boat

LUCCA
Meeting with the guide at Sarzana station and departure to the Tuscan city with train change in Viareggio. We'll start the tour from Porta San Pietro taking a walk to the cathedral of San Martino, splendid example of the architecture of Lucca, where you can admire the Volto Santo (Holy Face) and the painting of Tintoretto. We will continue to San Michele in Foro, the church of the pilgrims. Walking along Via Fillungo we will have a break at the ‘Caffé di Simo’ for a coffee where  G. Puccini used to take it. We will get to Piazza Anfiteatro and San Frediano. We will end the visit with a walk on the walls. At the end you can decide whether to stay in Lucca for a while or to return to Sarzana with the guide.

PORTOFINO AND SANTA MARGHERITA
Departure from the  Station of Sarzana to Santa Margherita Ligure, where on arrival you will find the guide. With the shuttle or the ferry we will reach Portofino, which origins are lost in remote antiquity: there are those who sustain a Phoenician origin, those who prefer a Greek origin, others only Roman. The name seems to date back to Portus Delphinis, certainly linked to the sinuous dolphins that you can meet in the waters off the town but also to the ability of sailors and fishermen of the village. We will make a nice walk in the famous square, where you can meet some famous persons, Portofino is nowadays a destination for the jet set. We will continue to Santa Margherita Ligure, the largest seaside resort on the Riviera di Levante, located in the inner part of the Gulf of Tigullio. Thanks to a mild climate it is a prime summer and winter resort, the old nucleus is concentrated between the sea and the railway. The urban development linked to tourism extends around the inlet and hills. We'll walk through the old town, not to be missed is the Basilica of Santa. Margherita d’Antiochia on the central square of the town. At the end transfer to the railway station to return to Sarzana.

GENOA AND THE AQUARIUM
Maritime, commercial and financial Republic. A city of contrasts and surprises, Genoa is today regarded as the largest Italian port and the largest old town center in Europe. You will see the facades painted in bright colors and in contrast with the black slate. Departure of participants from Sarzana Station to Genoa Principe.
Meeting with the guide for a tour of the Old Town to discover the squares, the famous Genoese “caruggi”, the numerous churches, the beautiful palaces. Free lunch. In the afternoon you will visit independently the Aquarium or you can have free time for shopping or personal activities. At the end transfer to the station to return to Sarzana.
